『一刻』手に筆

手首から先が檜の一木彫。それを強調する様に腕の部分は桐の寄木となっている。前原作品では数少ない無着色。今から色を入れる緊張感が伝わってくる作品。

“One Moment”, Brush in Hand

The sculpture, from the wrist on, is carved from a single block of hinoki wood. To emphasize this, the arm is a parquet texture made of paulownia. It is an uncolored work, uncommon in Maehara’s work. The work conveys the sense of anticipation that color will soon be painted on.
