コロナウィルスの影響下において、チーム彦十蒔絵と新しい作品に挑戦しました。 油画の描き方を参考にし、光の表現、石という素材を研究しながらの制作になりました。 そして和紙と漆で作る一閑張という技法を応用し、彦十蒔絵の十八番、変わり塗りで重さと戦いながら、仕上げて頂きました。 制作中も世の中は激変していき、そんな中、私には子供が生まれました。 きっとこの子は私たちの世代とは違う感覚を持った人になっていくのだと思いました。 わたしたちが幼い頃から培ってきた自然、人、文化に対する距離感や身体感覚を今の子供達に同様に伝えるのは難しいことなのかもしれません。 デジタル化やオンラインによって、手に触れない、経験しないまま知識として理解していく事が増えるでしょう。 重そうな石が宙に浮いていても、不思議とは感じない子供になるかもしれません。 アフターコロナにおいて、日常生活の中で何気に見過ごしている事の中に重要な事があったり、時には盲目的に信頼を置くところに間違いがあることに気付くでしょう。今、目に見えている物事を疑ってみるという事は非常に重要な事だと思います。この石を制作することで、その事を皆さんとこれから考えていきたいと思いました。

We challenged to produce a new work with team Hikoju Makie due to the coronavirus. I gave birth during this time. I believe these children will become people with a different sensibility of our generation. It may be difficult to convey to children today the sense of distance and physical sensation towards nature, people, and culture that we have cultivated since we were young. The number of things that can be understood and acknowledged without touching or experiencing will increase through digitization and online. Even if a heavy stone floats in the air, you may become a child to whom this does not feel weird. In the after-corona, there may be very important things in our daily life carelessly overlooked, and sometimes mistakes in blind trust. I think it is very important to doubt the things that are currently in front of the eyes. By making this kind of stones, I wanted again to pose questions about that to everyone. I think now is the time for new ideas and art.
